Welcome to Cedardown, a beautifully restored Sea Captain’s home on the ocean side of Cahoon Hollow Road in Wellfleet. Originally built in 1830 for a sea captain and later operated as a bed and breakfast, this 5-bedroom home blends Cape Cod history with thoughtful modern updates, creating a warm and memorable setting for your Wellfleet getaway.

Inside, you’ll find spacious gathering areas and all kinds of historic details, giving the home plenty of charm. The recently renovated kitchen is bright and well-equipped for family meals, while the open dining and living areas with beautiful, wide plank floors offer plenty of room to relax, reconnect, and enjoy time together after a day at the beach.

The home has been updated with comfort in mind. A cozy den provides a quiet spot for reading, quiet time after a day of exploring the Cape, or as a comfortable place to do some remote work using the high-speed WiFi. Upstairs, all five bedrooms feature premium beds and fresh pillows, giving everyone a comfortable place to unwind. The bathrooms include a charming beadboard bath with modern fixtures and, a Cape Cod essential, an outdoor shower that is perfect after a day on the beach.

Wellfleet is known for its dramatic beaches, glacial ponds, natural harbor, boating, fishing, arts scene, and beloved local traditions, including the classic Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre, which has been entertaining visitors for generations, and Cedardown is the perfect base for enjoying these spots. Great Pond is just 1.1 miles away, which is about a 20-minute walk or a quick 3-minute drive, while Cahoon Hollow Beach is only 1.9 miles from the house and easily reached by bike. Take a short walk over Uncle Tim’s Bridge into Wellfleet Center, where you can explore local shops, art galleries, restaurants, and the town’s relaxed coastal charm.

***We welcome approved low-impact DOGS (max of 2)  - TENANT must reach out to Nauset Rental with dog details for approval either before making reservation or within 48 hours of submitting online reservation. We will need to know the following information:

*Any issues with accidents - urination or throwing up?
*Any issues with chewing furnishings?
*Barking while unattended or while attended?
*Does your dog receive flea and tick preventative?
*Are you confident you can leave property with no sign of your dog when you check out?
*Do you accept full responsibility for the behavior and impact of dogs in your group during your stay?
