Enjoy your coffee as the morning sunlight moves like a sundial across the marsh from First Encounter Beach to you on your deck outside one of the upstairs bedrooms. Then, join your family for breakfast downstairs as you plan your vacation day. Will it be a charter boat out of nearby Rock Harbor? You can see them setting out on the tide from where you sit. Perhaps a walk for a morning swim in Herring Pond or at First Encounter Beach? How about hopping on the nearby bike path and cruising out to the Visitors' Center just 3 miles away to learn what the Cape Cod National Seashore has to offer (and to ask if anyone else has reported the bald eagle you saw this morning). Continue bicycling on to Coast Guard Beach, noted as one of the top beaches in the US. If you are eager for a longer bike ride, go to Wellfleet's Marconi Beach or into Orleans for some funky shopping. Plan an evening cookout, grilling on the deck as the gang recounts their adventures and the osprey can be seen carrying a fish to their young in the nest. Or, use the lobster pot and all the utensils for a classic shore dinner. Maybe plan a picnic as you take in the evening concert on Windmill Green.

Plenty of mini-golf, ice cream shops, kayak and SUP board opportunities compete for your vacation time. You have key access to the private tennis courts and pickle ball courts. How about joining the pickle ball round robin! Your choices of entertainment are many: theater, concerts, art galleries, craft fairs and flea markets, too. If you just want to be peaceful and quiet, enjoy the view from the deck onto one of the major migratory flyways. To your right, the inlet from Cape Cod Bay looks just as inviting as it did when the men from the Mayflower Company first encountered the Nausets of the Wampanoag Tribe. Today, the kite boarders catch the famous Eastham breeze. To your left are the many kettle ponds left by the last glacier, then the Atlantic beyond, offering fresh and salt water fishing or swimming. Eastham is just 3 miles across here, with estuaries and ponds hosting diverse plant and animal and bird life.

This sunny, open floor designed home has 2 bedrooms up the spiral staircase, each with its own deck. The master bedroom has a queen tempurpedic bed and the other has a full bed and a loft bed suitable for a child. Both rooms are air conditioned. There is a full bath between the two bedrooms.

The first floor is a bright, open, kitchen-dining-living area all with beautiful views through the three large sliders. The sliders lead to the main deck that looks over the Great Salt Marsh. Off the living area is an office that converts to a third bedroom. The sofa becomes a single bed. There is an adjoining full bath and a door to this "suite" that can make it a private space for one vacationer.
The main floor has newly installed air conditioning. In winter, this "split" plus the gas fireplace can make the living space warm as you gaze upon the marsh ice flows. Other-worldly.

In the basement is another air conditioned bedroom with a queen size bed and another private room with a full sized futon. There is half bath and a washer dryer in the basement. There is an unenclosed outdoor shower to rinse off beach sand. There is a protected area to store your bikes or kayaks, if you choose.

If there is any indoor time, the amenities include wi-fi, cable television, a library of vacation reads and a game drawer. A well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher and microwave. The dining area seats 6 indoors and the deck dining seats 6 as well.
We will provide you with key access to nearby tennis and pickle ball courts. Play on very well maintained courts in the neighborhood, perhaps finding neighbors to challenge.

Herring Pond provides high quality fresh water swimming with a 1/4 mile walk. First Encounter Beach is 1 mile away, Great Pond is 3/4 mile away, Cape Cod National Park Visitors' Center and the entrance to Coast Guard Beach are 3 miles away. The bike path is 1/2 mile away. Plenty of outdoor tennis, kayak, SUP rentals, bicycle rentals nearby.

Come enjoy the best of Cape Cod, surrounded by the natural beauty of this shore!

Very responsive, website and email very easy to use, had a problem with key entry to house upon arrival and got call back within five minutes of calling. Rental Agency seems very organized and communicates frequently and effectively throughout the year.
Beautiful view, excellent decks, grill and dinners on the deck every night. House is okay on first and second floor, don't recommend sleeping in the two basement bedrooms as they are very musty smelling. Great location close to CCRT, easy drive to National Seashore Beaches. Cool spiral staircase in the center, comfortable first floor open plan with kitchen, family room area.

Lovey to take in the off-season quiet of the Cape where nature shines. What always makes staying here a pleasure is the inside sparkles as much as the Bay out on the horizon. It's an easy, uncomplicated and cozy spot. And the host? Thoroughly and thoughtfully fabulous! Thank you.

Stayed 4 nights and all was well. Spacious and had everything we needed. Of course we particularly loved the upstairs decks overlooking the marsh. Perfect place to relax and use as a base to enjoy the mid and outer cape.

Our family had an amazing stay over the last full week of August. We loved dinners on the deck overlooking first encounter beach....and oh the stars! The last time I'd seen so many was perhaps on a ski trip to Alaska or maybe in Rangley,Maine when I was a young teen. The star gazer app on my iPhone confirmed my hunches of our looking into the Milky Way. My oldest son enthralled by the vision of a satellite passing overhead. Our entire family had a fabulous vacation and my wife has already stated her desire to return next year. Anne we thank you for sharing your home with us. What a fabulous visit and stay it was. Thank you.

It is a wonderful, clean, well equipped home with everything that would be needed to make your stay in this home comfortable and relaxing. It is in a nice location so you can get out to the many Shops, Restaurants, and things to do. Just minutes off Rt.6 where you are away from all the noise and the Hussle and bustle of the Cape. It is nice to be able to get back from a day of exploring to the home where you can grab yourself a beverage and a snack, sit out on one of the three decks and watch life go by. Ahh. The photos that are shown in the listing are true to what the home is. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. The home is open and inviting. My wife and myself were so pleased when we walked into this home! We were so thankful that Anne shared with us the beauty of her home and allow us to truly enjoy our stay. I joked with Anne saying my wife had tied herself to the deck and was not leaving. We would defiantly rent Annes home again! And strongly suggest that anyone who may be looking for a Wonderful place to stay, might what to give up their search and stay here! we loved it!!! Thank you again !!! Anne.

We had a delightful experience at this "home away from home"! Sitting on the deck of our choice, morning, noon and night viewing nature and a fantastic salt marsh view, while the sea breeze passed by offered a peaceful sense of true vacation. Amenities were plentiful. Loved the double sink in the bathroom with large shower (two shower heads). My 12 year old son loved the loft in his bedroom. It was his fort hide out. Beds were quite comfy. The air conditioning unit in the master bedroom cooled the room comfortably. The a.c. unit in the loft bedroom cooled the room. It was a bit noisy, but it did the job just fine. No complaints from the 12 year old. That spiral staircase was not only eye catching but good and sturdy. Nice and wide. No worries for us 50 + year olds. We loved it. Having a washer and dryer downstairs was fantastic and made the trip home worriless with laundry to do upon arriving home. The house handbook on the kitchen table and the basket on the coffee table supplied us with a plethora of information of where to eat, bike ride, etc. I even discovered beach yoga! Took me a little less than 5 minutes to get there, driving. Loved it. The location of this home was just perfect. Close enough to everything such as the First Encounter Beach, the Superette for grocery items, Arnolds for delish seafood, etc. The reading material in the "library" room, as I call it, was plentiful. I must say that the downstairs bedroom was a bit musty but very nice with an updated bathroom right next to it. Hey, this house was pretty darn close to a perfect get away. If you stay here, you will not regret it. Cozy, CLEAN, great views, perfect location. Very nice properties surrounding you. Owner cooperation very evident in person and via email. Come, relax and appreciate the serenity. We drove 8 hours to come to this place. It was worth it. Now it's your turn! Book now, before someone else steals it. Enjoy!

I would highly recommend this property as it is clean and comfortable and very pleasant to spend time in. It is extremely relaxing to have this gorgeous view and proximity to cape cod nature. Very comfortable, well appointed and clean. Location is perfect right between orleans and eastham.

Anne's home is a true gem in many ways. Along with a generous and meticulous host, It makes for one of the best rentals in the area. First, the house has a nice open floor plan with light filling many spaces for a cheery feeling. The view from the upper and lower deck is amazing. The house is walking distance to the Herring pond and to First Encounter beach and a short ride to the bike trail. Oceanside beaches are a short drive. It is private and allows for a quiet dinner after one has had an active day. Restaurants, grocery stores are closeby. We stayed at Anne's house because our summer home on the Cape is being remodeled. We couldn't have spent our week as a family better with many memories to serve us for years to come. Thank you, Anne and your family, for sharing your home with us.

Selecting a rental from photos causes me pause: is what I see what I'll get? In this case? Absolutely! The open floor plan and unfussy appointments made settling in immediately comfortable. A well-stocked kitchen (as the rest of the house) was intuitively easy to use. Since we had friends coming-and-going a bathroom on each floor really was a plus. I wondered about sharing the common-doored bath between the two upstairs bedrooms but for this Medicare eligible group, it was no bother. Three of the bedrooms were pleasantly sized. The first floor space with the twin pull-out was compact. But our two-night guest found it cozy, used the provided shelving as a closet and demurred at the ensuite bathroom. The basement bedroom was indeed, in the basement, however there was no mustiness and like the rest of the house--immaculate! With that said...the Salt Marsh view. It compels. It's there for the taking. With the changing light it reveals the stunning natural wonder of what makes the Cape such a special part of the world. And last, but so not least: our host Anne. She was fabulous. Responsive, helpful and accurate. As we had lived in Eastham for decades, it is with certainty I say the description on their VRBO site and the detailed booklet Anne provided about the house and its environs are spot-on. Bravo Anne!

Tucked away from it all, overlooking an ever-changing salt marsh is this little gem of a home that welcomed my entire family - all seven of us! The open floor plan on the first floor is exactly what we wanted - enabling us to engage from the kitchen, dining, while relaxing, or hanging out on the wide deck over breakfast or while grilling the fish we caught earlier that day. There was privacy for when we needed it and plenty of casual space for us all. I enjoyed relaxing on the 2nd floor deck off the master bedroom while sipping my morning coffee, watching the all the bird activity going on in the marsh. The location is perfect - far enough away from all the commotion of route 6 and the mid-cape towns, yet close enough so it was easy to get to restaurants, shopping, and more. The rail trail bike path is a short ride away and we rode up to the Wellfleet beaches, and in to Brewster. First encounter beach is viewable from the deck. The well-geared kitchen had all we needed for our lobster-fest and all our meals. We plan on coming back next year!

We loved this house. The house is looks like a traditional cape from the road. The interior, however, has been renovated in a very creative way. The downstairs living space is expansive with the kitchen open to the rest of the living area. There are four sliding doors that open to a large deck. The deck has total privacy and overlooks a spectacular salt marsh. The marsh changes constantly depending on the tide, and is the home of multiple species of birds. Upstairs are two large and comfortable bedrooms and another interconnected large deck with an even better view of the marsh. The house is less than a mile from several lovely beaches, and is an easy drive to further outlying destinations. This place has a lot to recommend it and we will be back.
